We are working to get all of our committees going. Listed below are our active committees. Members are encouraged to join!! Having differing opinions and perspectives are what make these efficient and purposeful.
The committee shall conduct and supervise all nominations and elections in accordance with the union constitution and bylaws and shall verify that all nominees are members in good standing, understand the officer expectations and are willing to hold office.

The committee will work to amend our current constitution and bylaws. Following amendment, the committee shall meet "as needed".
Next Meeting - Thursday, February 20th @ 4:30pm, IBEW office #214
The committee shall assist the local in development of programs and ideas around membership recruitment and retention within the bargaining unit.
Next Meeting - March 24th @ 5:00pm @ IBEW #214
The committee will assist the editor in newsletter publications.
The committee will review research, questionnaires and interviews of candidates to consider endorsement by the local.
The committee will identify concerns of substitute bargaining unit members and work to resolve issues with the labor management team.

Endorsed School Board Candidate Profiles
Lisa was our only respondent for position one, but I believe we would have endorsed
her anyway. She has a strong involvement in the community, participating in many groups.
For the past ten years Lisa has been involved in the schools as a parent. She participated
in SCDM at both Geiger and Bryant Montessori. She has also chosen to involve herself in Special
Lisa is a strong advocate for equity issues, having established The Purple Umbrella group. She is
a strong advocate for ParaEducator issues, having established relationships at Geiger and
Position Two, dual endorsement:
Kris is a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Periodontics at University of
Washington. His children attend Point Defiance Elementary School, where he is Vice President
of the PTA. He is supportive of unions, having belonged to the UW Graduate Student Union.
As a healthcare professional, Kris is passionate about providing healthcare in the
schools. He also is interested in learning more about ParaEducators. He even offered to stay
after the Candidate Forum to speak with ParaEducators.
Enrique Leon has been on the school board for over a year and a half. Born in Peru,
Enrique is very supportive of the Latino community. He makes annual trips there to provide
Leon is involved in the schools, providing physical exams for athletes at Stadium and
Lincoln. This is alongside many other community volunteer experiences.
Enrique is also supportive of ParaEducators, and has taken time to meet with them after
a school board meeting.
