Having a union means setting the standard for wages, and working conditions. It give us, the employees, power and a voice. A union means labor management which is to monitor implementation of suggested improvements of working conditions and to bring forward and work through minor workplace issues. It means bargaining for a CBA that speaks to displacements, wages, benefits, personnel files, hiring process, employee performance reviews and so much more. Without a union, none of this exists. Without a union we are hourly employees at the mercy of the boss with very few rights. We continue to set the tone and together we build our power.
